The House

Growers in Champagne, for three generations

Three generations. The same patience, the same eye on our terroir. Behind every bottle, one simple belief: good things aren't rushed.

The vines

It all starts here.

Our vines take root in the chalk and sand of a thousand-year-old Champagne. Three grapes make up our palette: Pinot Noir for structure, Chardonnay for freshness, Meunier for that touch of indulgence we don't always admit to.

“To make good Champagne, everything starts in the vines, we need beautiful grapes.”

The press and the cellar

Gestures you don't improvise.

Hand harvest, at full ripeness. Gentle pressing, a grape handled roughly is quality lost. Precise winemaking, silent cellars where what the earth began carries on. Here we guide; we don't force.

“This is where our craft shows: we guide our wines as they evolve, respecting what the land and the year have given us.”

The art of ageing

Time, our only real secret.

  1. Mastering our ageing

a spell under wood that lays the structure and reveals the first nuances, roundness, mellow notes, on the still-young wine.

  2. Extended ageing on the lees

months in the dark of our cellars, where the lees work quietly, refine every bubble and weave the aromatic complexity.

  3. What makes our Champagnes singular

the outcome of a patience passed down through the generations, wines of firm character, between the vibrancy of the first morning of harvest and the calm of the final ageing.

Baptiste, founder of Encrage, with the house's cuvées

The founder

My earliest memories are in the vines.

I grew up in a small village whose name few people know, and yet, to me, no other place existed.

Before coming back to the vines, I learned champagne from the other end: marketing for the big houses. It taught me one simple thing: the first thing you remember about a bottle is its design and the brand it carries. So I asked myself. What if I gave others the chance to create their own design on our family estate's champagne?

“I want people to taste it and wonder: who's the grower behind this?”

Our craft

Pad printing. Ink straight onto the glass.

To dress our cuvées in your identity, we set the label aside in favour of something more demanding. The design is laid directly onto the bottle, with a precision paper cannot match, and a finish that does not fade.

Pad printing, step by step

Step 01

The plate

Your logo or design is first engraved into a plate, the cliché. In pad printing, only these recessed areas will take the ink.

Step 02

Inking

An ink formulated to bond with glass fills the recesses of the plate. The excess is scraped away, leaving only the exact line, true to your identity.

Step 03

The transfer

A soft silicone pad picks up the ink from the plate, then lays it onto the bottle. Its flexibility hugs the curves of the glass without ever distorting the design.

Step 04

UV curing

The fresh ink is immediately set under UV light: this is curing. The print becomes durable, unfazed by condensation or the damp of an ice bucket.

What it changes

Three telltale signs

A perfect fit

The print follows the curve of the glass and underlines the lines of your identity.

Built to last

UV-cured, the ink holds up against the damp of the ice bucket and swings in temperature. The result stays crisp right up to serving.

Absolute sharpness

From a detailed pattern to the finest type, every line is rendered faithfully to your design.
